We also seek to influence our suppliers to be conscious of how their production influences environment, health and safety.

It is essential to us that both our employees and those who work for our suppliers have fair and proper working conditions. By joining UN Global Compact, we hope to influence our suppliers towards taking responsibility for human rights and lay down standards for working conditions, the environment, health and safety.

By listening to our suppliers and establishing the materials and the additives used in what they provide or make for us, we can respond by informing our users and employees about correct product handling and disposal.

Supplier evaluation

We work with many suppliers all over the world. We use a supplier evaluation system with existing and new suppliers to help them get better at incorporating environment, health and safety considerations in their own production processes.

Each supplier is sent a self-assessment environment, health and safety questionnaire, and they are evaluated on their answers.

Evaluation also covers the kind of product they supply and the country where it is produced. Cultural differences and traditions are some of the aspects which must be considered during the selection and evaluation process.

If a supplier is considered to have a high risk profile, we arrange a site visit where is a more detailed questionnaire is completed, often with the help of a relevant external consultant who can contribute knowledge of both language and local conditions. If we want to use the supplier, a systematic evaluation is carried out through an audit. Subsequent, regular control of the supplier is then carried out to ensure that the supplier continually maintains focus on environment, health and safety matters, and acts in an ethical way.
